For the attention of Franco Maione

We would like to thank you very much for your help during our recent visit on 3-17th August. Room 709 was a delightful break and very restful. We hope to come again to your hotel in 2008 so hope we may have Room 709 again but will e-mail you prior to coming.

We decided to spend one night in your city on our way to Southern Italy. Our stay at the Grand Hotel Ambasciatori was fantastic! We know now that we should have spent most of trip in your coast! We will definately be returning, and recommending your beautiful hotel to our friends and family!

"Perfect Wedding Reception Location"

My husband and I had our September wedding in the Cloisters and then the reception at the Ambasciatori in addition to our 10 day stay at the hotel.

On the wedding day we had cocktails on arrival at the hotel and then the wedding breakfast on the secluded outside terrace looking out to the bay of Naples. The flowers, wine, wedding cake and service was perfect and well organised by Giovanni, Valentino and their team. The food was wonderful and the timing of the courses just right. All of our 23 guests thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine and were well looked after by the staff.

In the evening we had our own section of the terrace bar reserved and enjoyed the live music provided on a weekly basis by the hotel for their guests.

We stayed in a sea view room and I would definitely recommend paying the extra for the sea view. The location of the hotel is ideal and only a 10mins walk to the main square.

"Wedded Bliss"

My Fiancé and I booked via an agent, having weighed up the alternatives for a wedding abroad. We had a "wedding planner" through the agency also, but before we left we put down a deposit for our wedding reception at the hotel also. In hindsight this could have been a very hasty choice that could have blighted our wedding.

When we arrived we found that the hotel grounds, pool, and sea jetty were all picturesque, the staff were wonderful, friendly but very professional, and that the food was superb. The hotel is situated about 10 minutes walk from the town centre, so we had no problems getting in and out, and taking in the local atmosphere.

Further to this, the manager paid us great attention, and was a massive help in organising the reception, and so keeping us at ease during the build up to the big day.

The wedding day itself was perfect, fine weather, beautiful scenery, and 30 guests from home. After the ceremony we all returned to the hotel for the reception.

What can I say, it was faultless. The food was divine, the service and attention was spot on, and to have the view of the sun setting over Capri just before we started the speeches, priceless.

Thank you Hotel Ambasciatori for a truly memorable day, and a wonderful two weeks which my spouse and I can cherish for the rest of our lives.

"Couldn’t make for a better stay."

My husband and I have just returned from Italy. We stayed at the Grand Hotel Ambasciatori for 5 nights along with a number of our wedding guests.

We could not say better things about the hotel, after our wedding at the Cloisters on the 25th May, which was perfect; we had a drinks reception on the Seagull Terrace and then moved on to a typical Italian feast on the Vesuvius Terrace. Every detail was taken to make our special day memorable. The food was fantastic. All in all our 40 wedding guests were treated with impeccable service, delivery and atmosphere.

If anyone is considering an intimate trip this is the perfect place to stay. We would always spend the extra for a sea view but our best friends had a standard room which was equally as nice, with two balconies no less. Our parents had partial sea view rooms which were equally great. We couldn’t rave about it enough.

It sounds like it’s the place for weddings but we have been 4 times to Sorrento, staying twice here and once at the sister hotel the Royal too. Our other stay was out of season when the Ambasciatori was closed so they recommended the Antiche Mura Hotel (where the manager was trained by the general manager of the Manniello group – Giovanni). Giovanni manages all 4 hotels in the Manniello group and really deserves a pat on the back for the quality of staff and experience we have always been delivered. In our opinion the Ambasciatori should be your choice, we certainly will be returning without any question.

All our wedding guests feel the same, to satisfy 40 individuals it has to be good.

Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so perfect.

NB/ Will talk about other wedding elements on the forum later this week.
